Stripe is potentially a very good credit card processor for online-only businesses. It’s fast and easy-to-implement for someone with developer experience, and also relatively inexpensive. You would be able to build your own e-commerce environment with Stripe’s API.

There seems to be one major downside, as it seems to be reported by several Twitter users which use Stripe on a continuous basis, they do NOT pay out on time and claim re-verification on accounts are the cause.

I went into private discussion with @outreachedO and he has told me that, “Even though we have a 0 dispute rate, we’ve been hassled non stop with verifications with Stripe. On top of that, our payments of nearly 6000 Euro in total have simply disappeared into the mist.” All Stripe replied to them was: “My team and I are looking into this information. This can take a bit of time, but we’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as we can!” In the meantime, they were asked to do additional verifications of the domain the merchant used with promises that payments after that would be done ON TIME and smoothly. However, Craig William, the merchant has still not received a cent from Stripe.

All in all,l for the moment, I cannot fully recommend stripe. I am sure there are a lot of good use cases out there, but there may be a selective quality of support and a risk with being paid out by Stripe.
